Gaming channels dominated the "most influential" YouTube channels of 2016,LelleBelle of course, but the top spot overall went to ... Brazilian comedy?
Porta Dos Fundos, a Portuguese-language comedy channel, has topped this year's list of digital influencers. The end of the year round-up, released by Zefr, is largely made up of gamers including Jacksepticeye (no. 2), VanossGaming (no. 3),PewDiePie (no. 4) and Markiplier (no. 8).
Zefr, which is Los Angeles-based, tracks and ranks the trending engagement of the top digital influencers across thousands of data points to find out who is the most influential.

Founders Antonio Tabet, Fabio Porchat, Gregorio Duvivier, Ian SBF and John Vincent de Castro created the comedy channel to post satirical videos on a wide range of topics.
Since launching three years ago, the group's channel has amassed 2.9 billion views and more than 12 million subscribers.
The 26-year-old, whose real name is John William McLaughlin, is known primarily for his "let's play" videos, which showcase a gamer playing through a video game alongside footage of that player’s narration and reactions to the game.
The Irish YouTuber also posts a handful of challenge videos.
In 2016, according to Zefr, he reached 1.9 billion video views. He has 13.6 million subscribers to his main channel.
Canadian Evan Fong rarely shows his face in his videos. But the 24-year-old gamer still managed to rack up 1.6 billion total engagements and 19.45 million subscribers in 2016.
He, too, is known for "let's play" videos. He is also one of the developers behind 3BlackDot video game Dead Realm, released in 2015.
The Swedish gamer — who recently topped Forbes' highest paying YouTube star list — recently hit 50 million subscribers. He said he was going to delete his channel once he reached that milestone out of frustration over YouTube's dropping subscription numbers/glitches, but of course it was just a joke.
The gamer, whose real name is Felix Kjellberg, launched his channel with “Let’s Play” videos. In this last year, he has also branched out beyond vlogging.
His book This Book Loves Youmade the New York Timesbestseller list and his YouTube Red series Scare PewDiePiewas renewed for a second season. His second video game, PewDiePie’s Tuber Simulator,was downloaded more than 1 million times within 24 hours of its release.
In 2016, he had 1.6 billion engagements with fans, according to Zefr.
The 33-year-old YouTuber, who was No. 2 on Forbes' highest paid YouTubers list, has become known for his prank videos as well as his vlogs featuring his wife and kids.

This year, Atwood also toured with fellow YouTuber Yousef Erakat (FouseyTUBE) and starred in the feature film Natural Born Pranksters.
He continues to sell merch — including beanies, pens and sunglasses — and has deals with big brands including Scott Toilet Paper. He is working on a book called Will Work for Smiles.
