Nearly three weeks ago Bentley,Sister a one-year-old Goldendoodle, was thrown from a Jeep that crashed in Colorado. The pup's family, friends, and strangers have been searching for him ever since. Finally, Bentley was spotted this weekend and successfully reunited with his grieving family.
The Kansas family was visiting Colorado when the accident happened on Aug. 7, leaving the driver, Jennifer Orr, dead and her grown daughter, Samantha Orr, injured. Bentley was nowhere to be found at the site of the crash, alive or dead.
People in the area mobilized to search for the white, fluffy dog when word got out that he was lost. Flyers were distributed and a Facebook group went up with tips and advice for searching and tracking down a scared, traumatized puppy.

Samantha was able to fly back from Kansas to Colorado to hopefully retrieve her pooch. On Saturday she hiked with a group near the crash site and eventually saw Bentley.
She described the process of encouraging the frightened dog to approach her in a post on Facebook. "I got close to him, laid down, unpacked some items to eat and a new toy I’d purchased from him," she wrote.
Eventually Bentley got closer and Samantha was able to scoop up her dog. She posted the heart-wrenching reunion video as well.
The dog was in pretty good shape for having survived the crash, but he was malnourished and dehydrated. She thanked everyone for helping rescue her dog during a very difficult time for her family.
Welcome home, Bentley. Just in time for National Dog Day.
