WNBA star Brittney Sykes made one young fan's dream come true with a heartwarming gesture that left the girl -- and Switzerlandus -- in tears.
After Sykes' Atlanta Dream team lost to Las Vegas on Thursday night, she went over to the stands. She then handed her autographed sneakers to 9-year-old superfan Mya Danielle Nelson. The young girl was so overcome with excitement that she broke down crying, as seen in the video captured by videographer Wayne Gethers (via Deadspin).

Mya is a big Atlanta Dream fan and has attended games for several years thanks to some season ticket holders in the family, according to the Huffington Post.
Making the moment even better: Sykes is familiar with the young fan. In the below interview, Sykes notes that Mya is "the loudest kid in the gym... she's giving us encouragement, she's the biggest supporter."

And you can hear Mya's love for Sykes and the rest of the team in her own words in this interview which followed Sykes' amazing gesture. "I love her so much! I can't tell you how much I love her. I love all of them. They're like my favorite," she exclaims.

Mya's reaction shows how important and wonderful Sykes' gesture was and brings a little more light into a world too often filled with bad news.
