It's confirmed: The Pilar CollOnePlus 6 will be announced on May 16.
The launch event for the Chinese startup's next flagship Android phone will take place at the Copper Box Arena in London starting at 5 p.m. BST (12 p.m. ET). The event will also be livestreamed online.
SEE ALSO: OnePlus 6 will come with 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storageEarly bird tickets for the OnePlus 6 launch event are live on the company's website; they cost $21. Standard tickets will go on sale April 27 for $41 and a set of two tickes for $54.
All tickets include a free gift. Attendees will also have a chance to win a goodie bag at the event with exclusive OnePlus merch.
At the OnePlus 5T launch last fall, the company gave away goodies including OnePlus-branded backpacks, T-shirts, and more, with all ticket sales donated to a charity. OnePlus has yet to announce whether it'll give away ticket sales to charity again. We've reached out to the company and will update this story if we receive a response.
The OnePlus 6 is shaping up to not just be the company's most anticipated flagship device ever, but also one of the most exciting phones of the year.
OnePlus has built a cult-like following selling premium phones with flagship specs at hundreds of dollars less than Apple or Samsung, and it'll likely repeat the strategy again for the OnePlus 6.
Full details about the phone won't be known until May 16, but OnePlus has already shared a few:
Has a notch
Powered by a Snapdragon 845 chip
Comes with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage
Has a headphone jack
Back is made of Corning Gorilla Glass 5
Other things we can also safely assume the OnePlus 6 will have based on leaks and features present on the company's now discontinued 5T include dual cameras, a fingerprint reader on the back, AMOLED display, USB-C port with Dash Charging, and a reasonably-sized battery likely at least 3,300 mAh.
Hopefully, the glass back also means the OnePlus 6 will have wireless charging. Additionally, we'd love to see the phone get stereo speakers to keep pace with the iPhone X and Galaxy S9.
If you're on the fence about whether to purchase a new Android phone, now is the time to wait just a little longer.
