Starbucks recently announced their first ever limited edition spring-themed cups.
The China Archivespastel-hued cups will be available starting March 16 and are noticeably different from any other limited edition cup Starbucks has ever done. While a few of the cups will feature some pre-drawn designs, most of the cups are quite blank. In lieu of the well-known Starbucks logo, Starbucks is encouraging their customers to draw in their own spring designs.
For the Starbucks faithful, this news has been met with excitement and some people think they are very cute.

In particular, people have spotted a striking similarity between these blank cups and the default profile picture Twitter assigns users who have not uploaded one yet.

Unfortunately for Starbucks, these egg profile pictures have become associated with the "bad eggs" that exist on Twitter, people who like to antagonize, berate and incite argument on the social media platform usually for no good reason.
So basically, Starbucks' new designs have inadvertently paid homage to the Twitter trolls of the world. Whoops!

Now that we cannot unsee this apt comparison, we would also like to think about whether people will actually have time to draw in their own design on this blank cup. (Probably not.) And even if we did have time, making a drawing look good on a coffee cup is even harder than making one look good on a flat surface. (And we can't even manage that.)
Can you please just draw the design in for us, Starbucks, and put a stop to this nonsense?
