SEE ALSO: When to book your holiday travel (Hint: Soon)As it's very late in the game, we're here to give you some guidance on where to find the best holiday flight deals.
Directly checking airline sites is a great first step to take. Many airlines have special deals listed for U.S. travelers around this time of year, and some are specifically marked "Holiday Deals," which means you can plan a trip for New Year's Eve, too.
Here are some of the most exciting deals we've stumbled upon:
United is offering over 40 discounted holiday deals on select flights out of Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles and more from $121 to $408 roundtrip. Other popular holiday deals on United include flights from the U.S. to Canada so you can get the hell out of Trump's America, if only for a couple of nights.
Alaska Airlines has a few flight deals for this time of year as well. Select flights from Los Angeles, Portland and Seattle start from as low as $59 one way, but must be purchased by Dec. 26.
JetBlue's 12 Days of Deals promo may have ended for the year, but the airline is still allowing travelers to find great deals to flights in the U.S., South America or Central America and the Caribbean with the Best Fare Finder. Simply enter the desired dates and check out the giant calendar to get low prices and availability.
If you're looking for some hot vacation packages in a pinch, American Airlines has got you covered. The Last-Minute Packages and Vacations on its site will help you forget the hustle and bustle of work by finding the best deals on luxurious getaways to Atlantis Paradise Island, Hawaii and many more. Trips must be booked before Dec. 31 to take advantage of the low prices and pamper yourself.
Virgin America is offering various discounted roundtrip ticket options from select locations like Los Angeles and Seattle. Prices vary depending on departure date, but deals under $100 can still be found, so have no fear.
Travel sites are great if you're in the mood to purchase or browse some package deals.
Take a look at major sites like Kayak for huge savings on all-inclusive vacation deals, along with access to hotel and car bookings.
And other sites like Orbitz allow you to easily book your flights, check out activities in the area and save an extra 15% off on select hotels by using a holiday promo code. If you're stumped on where to go, check out the site's current hot deals, like a getaway to Mexico, which allows customers $125 in savings when they use a promo code. Just think, you can use that extra $125 to splurge on buckets of Coronas and extra suntan lotion. You can also check out the site's Caribbean Holiday Sale -- but hurry, the offer ends soon.
To ensure you're getting the best deal possible, browse sites like Expedia, Travelocity, Priceline and HotWire as well, and be sure to keep your eyes peeled on the for holiday discount codes.
If you want to ensure you're doing everything in your power to get the hottest last-minute deal, here are some additional tools you can use:
Google Flights is great for helping choose a destination. If provides a nifty calendar displaying lowest available fares in select popular locations, along with a search feature to insert desired dates and airports.
If you're considering road-tripping it as an alternative (oh boy,) the Fly or Drive calculator is the place to compare costs between taking a plane or car. You know what they say: know before you go (on a road trip that lasts days and days).
Skyscanner is also a great resource for comparing flights and it's simple, too. The free site links you directly to your desired airline or travel agent with no additional fees, which makes booking a breeze.
You can also use Hopper, an airfare analysis site, to guide you on when and where to purchase the cheapest tickets.
Good luck out there, and maybe next year you should consider booking your holiday flight a taaaad bit earlier.
