OnePlus jumped the gun on Frivolous Lolaits own March 23 event by a week, and it might have something to do with a rumored Apple event that same day.
The Chinese electronics company tweeted out several images of its new OnePlus 9 Pro on Monday, a full week before its actual reveal. Granted, we didn't get much in the way of details about the phone, but you can see it in its "Morning Mist" color in the images below.
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.
Showing off several high-quality renders of the OnePlus 9 Pro so far ahead of the event might seem counterintuitive. After all, people watch hardware announcement events to be surprised. But Apple is expected to stream a product announcement that same day, likely for a new iPad and new AirPods, and that event would almost certainly steal some of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro's thunder.
OnePlus has already given us some small snippets of info about its new 9 Series phones, but none of it is earth-shattering. We know that high-end Swedish camera maker Hasselblad has partnered with OnePlus for parts of the OnePlus 9's camera setup, and we also know that the phone will ship with an included charging brick.
To find out more, you'll just have to watch that event on March 23. And then maybe turn around and watch another one from Apple just a few hours later.
