Kirsten Dunst does not care about Spider-Manmovies.
At least,Beauty Salon Special Service 4 not any besides the ones she was in; the 2002 Spider-Man, 2004's Spider-Man 2, and the notoriously awful Spider-Man 3 in 2007 (did you see this movie, Kirsten??).
In the July issue of Marie Claire, the Fargoactress brushed off any Spider-Manquestions, saying ‘We made the best ones, so who cares?"
SEE ALSO: 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' poster is...a messDunst expressed similar thoughts to Varietylast month, saying "Everyone likes our Spider-Man. C’mon, am I right or what? Listen, I’d rather be in the first ones than the new ones.”
She's not wrong, given the forgettable writing in 2012's The Amazing Spider-Manand its sequel, but leads Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone had enviable chemistry (not least because they were dating) and formidable acting chops whether together or separate.
It also bears mentioning that if Dunst was in the best Spider-Manmovies, she was also in the worst. Spider-Man 3happened, no matter how much we try to block it out. A lot of money went into that, and a lot of trauma came out.
Given the highly-anticipated release of Spider-Man: Homecomingthis summer with its diverse and charismatic young cast, Dunst's comments seem like textbook sour grapes.
"I’m like, 'You make it all you want,'" she told Marie Claire. "They’re just milking that cow for money. It’s so obvious. You know what I mean?’"
SO WAS SPIDER-MAN 3, KIRSTEN.
