If third-party sellers want to sell Nikes or Frivolous LolaAdidas on Amazon, it'll cost them.
Amazon is charging sellers as much as $1,500 to list certain brands in their stores. The flat fee is charged per brand, CNBC reported this week.
The move is part of an effort to stop the sale of counterfeit goods on Amazon. Birkenstock announced it would take its products off Amazon entirely because of concerns over counterfeit products last month.
But the policy will affect legitimate sellers as well as counterfeit sellers. All will have to pay the nonrefundable fee to stock brands that include Nike, Adidas and Hasbro.

"We want customers to be able to shop with confidence on Amazon," Amazon spokesman Erik Fairleigh told CNBC. "For certain products and categories, Amazon requires additional performance checks, other qualification requirements, and fees."
Amazon did not respond to a request for comment from Mashable.
Charging fees like this for access to a particular brand is called "brand gating," CNBC said. It started affecting sellers last week.
