The House of Pleasures (House of Tolerance)long-rumored Super NES classic has been officially announced, and it's coming on Sept. 29.
Just like its NES Classic predecessor, the diminutive replica of Nintendo's second gaming console ever comes packed with games. The $79.99 price tag gets you 21 classics from the SNES era, as well as two controllers.

Based on the images Nintendo has released, the packed-in controllers are exact replicas of the original SNES pads. Again, just like the NES Classic -- though hopefully SNES Classic controllers come with longer cords.
While it's easy to get excited about this new "Classic" bundle from Nintendo, temper your expectations. Excitement for the NES Classic was huge going into the 2016 holiday season, and -- with no pre-orders from Nintendo directly -- the micro-machine sold out almost instantly at all retailers.
Shipments of the tiny NES trickled out in the months that followed, with Nintendo -- in the spotlight at the time as the Switch launch approached -- promising a steadier supply over in the subsequent months. That promise never materialized, and by May 2017 the NES Classic had been officially discontinued -- despite there being lingering evidence of high demand.
Nintendo's announcement makes no mention of pre-orders or supply lines, suggesting that the stock issues with NES Classic may carry forward into the SNES Classic era. We've reached out for clarification and will update this post accordingly once we have it.
Hopefully Nintendo has figured out a better way to satisfy the Classic audience, as there are lots of reasons to get hype about an SNES Classic.
In addition to several exciting "deep cut" games -- like EarthBoundand Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars-- there's also a chance for fans to check out a game that was never actually released. If you manage to beat the first level in Star Fox, you'll unlock access to Star Fox 2.
In addition to the mini-console, the SNES Classic package includes two wired controllers, an HDMI cable, and a power adapter.
