On Wednesday morning Carlos Walker,DMCA aka Atlanta rapper "Shawty Lo," was the victim of a fatal car accident.
According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (AJC) the 40-year-old rapper, hailing from Moultrie, Georgia was killed in a car crash that took place on I-285 in southern Fulton County around 2:20 a.m.
The AJC reported that while the accident was initially described as a hit-and-run, Fulton police spokeswoman Cpl. Maureen Smith said, "it has been confirmed now that it was a single car accident."
WFTV 9 stated that a white Audi went over a guardrail and hit two trees before bursting into flames. Smith said the driver was ejected from the Audi and pronounced dead on the scene, while the two other people in the car were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The rapper is well-known for the hit “Dey Know” and also for being a member of D4L, an Atlanta rap group known for the song “Laffy Taffy.”
Shawty Lo's manager identified the victim and the tragic news was later announced on Lo's personal Twitter account.
