If it seems too good to be World Of Single Jayetrue, then it probably is.
SEE ALSO: These teens faked a proposal because free food is everythingMilan Schipper was geared up for a backpacking trip through sunny Australia. While booking his ticket, the thrifty teen saw a flight to Sydney for $300 less and pounced on the deal.
He probably shouldn't have read those flight details more closely. If he had, he would have realized that he wasn't headed to the land down under.
Schipper had unknowingly booked his ticket for Sydney, Nova Scotia in Canada. Unfortunately, the teen didn't realize his error until he was already on the flight.
Via GiphyIn an interview with CBC, Schipper said, "I checked the flight plan on the screen of the seat in front of me... and then I saw it was going to go right and not left. That was about the time I realized there was another Sydney."
To make matters worse (and much more hilarious), Schipper arrived in Sydney, Nova Scotia while the city was in the middle of a snow storm.
Imagine leaving your home expecting this:
And arriving to this:
The teen only spent five hours in Sydney before returning home to Amsterdam. He was greeted at the airport by his father.
"[My dad] felt really sorry for me, but he thought it was something only I could do," said Schipper.
Schipper said that his father chalked it up to a learning experience and that he had a good laugh over his son's epic blunder.
Let this be a lesson to all the young travellers out there.
