Star Warsfans are My Mothers Friend 5already getting a pretty awesome gift this holiday season thanks to the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story -- Mashable's review calls it "an amazing achievement and an extremely effective story," and that's putting it lightly. (Read our spoiler-free review or longread review for more details.)
SEE ALSO: Hollywood feels the Force with electrifying 'Rogue One' premiereBut a trip to the cineplex is hard to fit in a stocking, so Mashablehas compiled a gift guide that would make a Bounty Hunter blush, stuffed with enough gadgets, toys, clothing, kitchen appliances and plain ol' nerdery to send your loved ones into hyperspace when they open their presents this year. (Or you can just keep them for yourself -- it's what Han Solo would do.)
Elaborate space battles have always been a signature part of the Star Warssaga, so if you have a friend or family member who has always aspired to pilot an X-wing (or a TIE fighter or speeder bike, for that matter), Propel's laser battling quads are the next best thing. The hand-painted drones can reach speeds of 35 mph and are capable of engaging in laser battles with up to 12 other pilots simultaneously. The Death Star will never see you coming. Price: $239.99
If you've always secretly wanted to be a Jedi Knight, Sphero's BB-8 and Force Band are probably the closest you can get without venturing to a galaxy far, far away. With the Force Band, you can control your BB-8 with just a wave of your hand (as opposed to using the tie-in app on your phone) and expand your Jedi abilities in Force Training mode. You can even use the band by itself to complete Combat Training with your lightsaber or blaster so that you'll be ready to take on the Empire. Price: $199.99
Star Warsnever goes out of style, so keep your family fashionable andcozy this holiday season with organic cotton pajamas for toddlers, kids, adults and even your four-legged friends. Price: $38-46.
You may not know this about everyone's favorite Sith lord, but he's actually a whiz in the kitchen. Your smoothies and soups are guaranteed to feel the power of the Dark Side with this immersion blender, which is inspired by the design of Vader's iconic red lightsaber. Just be careful not to choke on any of your creations... Price: $29.99
That's no moon... it's a magical snack-making device! Pop some corn while you pop in your favorite Star Warsmovie for an evening of intergalactic entertainment. You can use the lid as a bowl, and once you're done, the machine doubles as a nifty piece of home decor. Price: $49.99
Love and Madness has made an art of designing fan-friendly jewelry that's as elegant as it is nerdy, and that's perfectly illustrated in their collection of gold and silver plated bangles, with designs including C-3PO and R2-D2, the Millennium Falcon and the Death Star, and Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper. Price: $18
These fully-posable die-cast action figures are suitable for younglings age 3 and up, featuring beloved characters from the original trilogy (A New Hope's bun-headed Leia is our favorite), The Force Awakensand Rogue One. Each comes with a standing base, and many of the figures also feature interchangeable hands, weapons and accessories. Price: $20-22.
You don't need to be stranded in the icy wastes of Hoth to enjoy this Empire Strikes Back-inspired sleeping bag; whether you're staying close to home or venturing out into the freezing weather, it never hurts to keep a snuggly Tauntaun close by. We promise that this one smells much less stinky than the real thing. Price: $149.99
Let's face it, there's no one in the galaxy who's perkier than R2-D2 -- the chipper droid always greets the morning with a cheery bleep, no matter how dire the circumstances. Perhaps you have a loved one who needs a mechanical motivator; in which case, allow Artoo to help them face the day. (And if you're more of a tea drinker, this quirky BB-8 tea set has you covered.) Price: $39.95
If you glance at this artful hunk of junk in passing, it's just a snazzy Millennium Falcon model on a stand. But if you use the Force (or a Bluetooth connection), it's a wireless speaker with one-touch connectivity, allowing you to play your favorite Cantina Band music or make calls. And let's be honest, haven't you always wanted to phone someone from the Falcon? Price: $49.99
Hot Topic has created a stylish line of clothing -- including dresses, sweaters, military jackets and shirts -- for the fashion-forward rebel in your life. The outfits are inspired by the utilitarian heroes of Rogue One, Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), and the Imperial Death Troopers who oppose them. No mission is too hot when you've got threads this cool.Price: $29-79
Recreate the biggest battles in theStar Warssaga with this remote-controlled Imperial Walker from Hasbro. A gift that's sure to leave them asking, "Aren't you a little tasty for a Stormtrooper?" You know what they say -- if you can't beat 'em, eat 'em. This intergalactic waffle iron comes complete with five heat settings and a weighted lid so that you can make sure your morning snack is as light and airy as Cloud City, or as crispy as a battle on Mustafar, depending on your preference. Price: $39.99
These rugged coats are based on the characters' costumes from Rogue Oneand are as practical as they are impressively detailed. Jyn's jacket is crafted from heavy cotton twill and features a detachable quilted, insulated vest, while Cassian's coat is both waterproof and features an Omni-Heat Reflective lining to trap body heat for your next mission to an ice planet. Chances are, you probably won't be able to wield a real-life lightsaber in this galaxy any time soon -- but at least you can make mealtime more adventurous with these light-up chopsticks, which are designed to look like Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader's weapons. Mon Calamari, anyone? Price: $19.99
Socks have become a holiday gift-giving tradition, but that doesn't mean they have to be boring. Make your footwear fancier than an Alderaanian princess with Stance's detailed line of Star Wars socks -- the collection includes just about every character under Tatooine's twin suns, as well as fun combinations like Boba Fett and Han Solo frozen in carbonite. Price: $20-25
Formal suits aren't much fun, but sharply dressed dudes can still geek things up with these subtle but stylish cufflinks, which are available in an assortment of characters, droids and vehicles, in both flat and 3D styles. The desert plains of Jakku are no place for a friendly droid -- you need to get him plugged back into your X-wing, stat. Once you do, BB-8 is able to power up two of your devices simultaneously thanks to two 2.1A USB charging ports, and he'll also keep you company as you flydrive, moving and chatting to you while he works. While Rogue One prequel novel Catalyst is an intriguing read in terms of setting up the backstory for the new film, author James Luceno created an even more compelling tale in last year's Tarkin, which offers the untold backstory of memorable villain Grand Moff Tarkin. You'll never watch A New Hope the same way again. Price: $7.48 paperback, $6.33 kindle
The Mandalorian menace may have met an untimely end in the Sarlacc pit, but since the monster's digestion takes several thousand years, Fett probably could've used a lot of coffee during the process. We can only imagine that's why this beverage container is so gigantic -- but even if you don't need to stay conscious for a few millennia, you'll probably get a kick out of receiving your caffeine from the beloved bounty hunter's ugly mug -- pun intended. Price: $10.49
Without darkness, there can be no light -- and that means no funky lamps inspired by Kylo Ren and Darth Vader's iconic weapons. Price: $159.99
